I am an avid spectator of the relationship between music and technology.

Music is not simply about the romanticism of creativity. It is also determined by the technology. In this video, David Byrne discusses in a similar way how music has been produced to meet the requirements of live music venues.

As his career grew, David Byrne went from playing CBGB to Carnegie Hall. He asks: Does the venue make the music? From outdoor drumming to Wagnerian operas to arena rock, he explores how context has pushed musical innovation.
